The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Bibiani Gold Stars, Mr. Kwasi Adu, has rendered an unqualified apology following his alleged comments he made after the game with Hearts of Oak last weekend.

Gold Stars took an early lead but failed to hold as Hearts of Oak fought back to secure a 2-1 win on Match Day 2 of the Ghana Premier League.

Following Gold Stars’ defeat, Mr. Adu, in a video posted by a blog (Sports Daughter), criticized the performance of the referee.

“Honestly there were some decisions of the referee that weren’t right, especially the first goal and even the second goal,” he said.

However, the astute football administrator took to his official Facebook account to express his remorse and apologize for his actions.

“I offer my unqualified apologies. I have absolutely no intention of defaming or bringing the brand into disrepute. To everyone affected, please accept my sincere apologies.

This is a journey, and we must remain committed to reaching the destination together. I take responsibility for my part, and once again, I sincerely apologize to the brand and to everyone affected.

Let’s move forward together.”

Notwithstanding, the Ghana Football Association (GFA), according to an update on the GFA’s regulatory actions for the 2026/27 season, Adu has been charged with a breach of Article 34(6)(d) of the Ghana Premier League Regulations, 2025.

The GFA says the comments constitute improper conduct that brings the Ghana Premier League into disrepute.

Adu has been given until Wednesday, September 16, 2026, to respond to the charge.
