Ghana Football Association (GFA) Communications Director Henry Asante Twum says the Black Stars squad for the upcoming 2027 AFCON qualifiers will go through a channel of scrutiny before it is officially announced.

According to Asante, Carlos Queiroz has submitted his squad for the upcoming games, and it is currently going through the required process.

Mr. Asante mentioned that the squad will first go through the hands of the Management Committee before heading to the Executive Council.

This means Queiroz’s selection does not immediately become the official Black Stars squad once it is submitted by the head coach.

“Coach Carlos Queiroz has submitted his squad for the upcoming games, and it is currently going through the required processes. It will first go before the Management Committee and then the Executive Council,” he explained on Kumasi-based Akoma FM.

The Management Committee provides administrative, logistical, and strategic support to ensure the senior national men’s football team runs efficiently during matches and tournaments.

Its responsibilities include logistical and operational support, financial coordination, liaison, and strategy.

The process will be completed ahead of the international window for Ghana as they begin their 2027 AFCON qualifying campaign.

Ghana, drawn in Group C alongside Ivory Coast, the Gambia, and Somalia, will make a trip to Bouake to face Ivory Coast on September 24, before hosting the Gambia in Ghana days after.
