Former Asante Kotoko Head Coach Eric Tinkler has disclosed the reason behind his abrupt exit from the club after losing 2-0 at home last Sunday to Aduana Football Club on match day 4 of the Ghana Premier League.
According to the Ex-South African International, his unfortunate departure has no connection with the defeat to Aduana Football Club.
Tinkler explained that the decision to mutually leave was due to a lucrative offer he has received from South African side, Durban City.
He stressed that his decision was already made prior to his last game in charge of the Porcupine Warriors, where he spent just two months and managed four games.
In an interview with 3Sports Gh, Tinkler said there was no way he was going to turn down the deal due to the finances involved, describing it as very lucrative.
“I was given a good offer to go back to a club in South Africa, and that is the main reason why I made the decision,” he noted.
During his four matches in charge, Tinkler won one, drew two, and lost one.
In his absence, Adofo Peral, an assistant coach, will now act as the interim gaffer.
Asante Kotoko will host Karela United on match day 5 at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on Thursday, October 1.
